My Approach to Photographing Your Wedding Day
As a documentary wedding photographer, I often see a moment when everything finally quiets for just a second. It might be during your first look, a deep breath before walking down the aisle, or a glance across the dance floor when it all hits you: this is it.
That’s the moment I’m there for.
My approach to photographing weddings isn’t about stiff poses, forced smiles, or turning your day into a photoshoot. It’s about documenting your story as it naturally unfolds — honestly, emotionally, and in a way that brings you right back to how it felt.
From the very beginning, I step into your day with intention. I’m not just showing up with a camera, I’m showing up as someone who understands how meaningful this day is. I guide when needed (because yes, timelines matter and we’ll make sure everything flows beautifully), but I never take you out of the moment just for the sake of a photo.
You deserve to live your wedding day, not perform it.
I focus heavily on candid, documentary style imagery. Within my client galleries you can find; in between moments, unscripted laughter, the way your hands find each other without thinking, the tears your mom tries to hide, the energy of your people, your story, your love.
Of course, I’ll step in and gently direct when it matters most, like during portraits, so you never feel awkward or unsure. But even then, my goal is to create space for real connection. I’ll give you prompts, movement, and room to just be yourselves, so your photos feel naturally you and not staged.
Color and light also play a huge role in my work. I’m drawn to vibrant, true to life tones that reflect the joy and emotion of your day. Y our gallery should feel alive, full of warmth, energy, and the kind of moments that never go out of style.
Beyond the photos themselves, my role is to support you. I help with timelines, family photo organization, and navigating the flow of the day so you don’t have to carry that stress. When you feel taken care of, you’re able to be fully present and that’s where the magic happens.
