When couples first reach out to me, they usually think they’re booking a wedding photographer.
But somewhere between timeline planning, fixing a veil before portraits, helping calm nerves before the ceremony, bustling a dress, wrangling family photos, and reminding them to actually pause and soak it all in — they realize they’re getting so much more than that. They are hiring a colorful wedding photographer but also gaining a friend.
Your wedding day is not just a photoshoot, it’s one of the most emotional, fast moving, joy filled days of your life.
And the person documenting it should help you feel present in it, not pulled away from it.
That is the heart behind everything I do at Brittany Ford Photography.
I started photographing weddings because I fell in love with documenting connection, the in between moments, the emotion, the energy, the people you love most all gathered in one place.
The teary hugs.
The chaotic dance floor moments.
The way your partner looks at you during the ceremony.
Your grandparents holding hands during dinner.
The deep breath you take together after finally saying “I do.”
Those are the moments that matter.
Years from now, I want your photos to bring you back to exactly how everything felt.
Not overly posed.
Not forced.
Not trendy in a way that fades.
Just honest, vibrant, emotional memories that still feel like you.
One of the biggest compliments I receive from couples is:
“You made everything feel easy.”
And honestly? That means more to me than anything else.
I know wedding planning can feel overwhelming. There are timelines, family dynamics, vendor decisions, weather concerns, and approximately 700 tabs open at all times. I’ve seen it all and I’m here to help guide you through it.
My approach combines documentary storytelling with intentional direction when needed.
That means:
You should never feel like your wedding revolves around photos.
Your photos should revolve around your experience.
The wedding industry can feel incredibly saturated, especially when searching for photographers online. But I truly believe the right photographer is about connection just as much as imagery.
My couples are usually drawn to:
I’m not here to make your wedding fit into a Pinterest perfect box, because it shouldn’t. Every wedding and every couple are different and unique in their own ways.
I’m here to document your story as it naturally unfolds.
Whether your wedding is in Buffalo, Rochester, New York City, Charleston, Maine, or somewhere meaningful to the two of you, my goal stays the same every single time:
To create photographs that feel alive, as a colorful wedding photographer.
Long after the flowers are gone and the music fades out, your photographs become part of your family history.
They become the images you print in albums.
The moments future generations will look back on.
The memories that help you relive everything decades from now.
That responsibility means everything to me.
I don’t take lightly the fact that couples trust me with one of the most important days of their lives.
And because of that, I pour my heart into every wedding I document.
If you’re looking for a colorful wedding photographer who values emotion over perfection, connection over stiff posing, and creating an experience that feels effortless from start to finish, I would truly love to connect with you.
Whether you’re planning a colorful downtown celebration, a coastal wedding weekend, an intimate garden ceremony, or a classic black tie wedding, I’m here to document it in a way that feels honest, joyful, and completely true to you.
If my work and approach resonate with you, I’d love to hear more about your story, your vision, and what matters most to you on your wedding day.
