Your wedding day is the most important day of your life. The next most important thing is your memories of that special day and how you preserve them. As a New York Wedding Photographer, I get the opportunity to capture your love story as it unfolds and deliver a stunning wedding gallery with all of your favorite moments. But, I get asked this question about wedding albums pretty often –
In a world where technology advances nearly every second, we need a break from the fast-paced, constantly changing everyday life. Life is precious, time goes by quickly. Your memories are all you have, but they do tend to fade away more and more each day.
Most people don’t think about the traditional prints and albums because digital tools have made it so easy to share, access and store their memories. The truth is – your memories are too precious to be left behind. Therefore, wedding albums allow you to keep the past alive and never forget the most precious moments of your favorite day.
But let’s face it – you most likely have enough storage on your phone or laptop to save your entire wedding gallery. But how often do you actually look back at photos when on your digital device? By choosing to have your memories printed within a lay-flat album, you can make a date night out of it and look back on your memories at anytime to relive all of your favorite parts of your special day.
From my perspective, printing your images either within prints or albums is very important. I personally have my own photos printed and shown all over my house. It’s really nice to be able to continue printing out more recent images and see how we grew as a couple over the years as well.
While it is fun to sit down with your favorite cocktail, next to your new husband/wife to look at your gorgeous wedding photos on a computer – it’s just not the same as having a physical album to flip through your memories of the best day of your life over and over again.
I always encourage my clients to print out their images through the store within their online galleries. I know how happy it makes me to see actual prints on my wall of my boyfriend and I, so I know it will make you happy too! There is truly no better way to preserve your memories than in a professional wedding album. Think about how it will feel when you take your album off the shelf and show it with your children & someday even with your grandchildren!
While this is pretty obvious as you are most likely reading this in a fancy little computer in the palm of your hand. Just within the last 10 years; how to save, back-up, share and view your images have changed so much. When I first started my business, I burned photos onto a CD… I know, how embarrassing. I also have no way to view those images any longer because of how CD & DVD players are now obsolete. So, I would have to purchase one from the local Goodwill if I really wanted to see those images. It’s wild that it’s only been 10 years, soon enough USB drives will also join them in being ancient memories.
Printing your images will never go out of style, because let’s be real… film photography is back in style.
Whether you have been planning since you were little or just a few months, you spent a lot of time and hard earned money on making sure it was absolutely perfect. Why not show it off? Yes, you could show it off on socials but let’s be real – social media posts only have a shelf life of a few days, if that.
IRL is so much better all around because you could show off your album at any dinner party you have at home. Your house guests can flip through the pages of your album and re-live one of the best days of your life. Those who weren’t able to be in attendance will be able to see how detailed your day was.
Most couples may not ever print any of their photos. What?! Yes, you heard it right. For those who choose not to print their memories through their photographer’s professional labs, almost never end up printing their photos. Life gets busy & some may think having a digital album is good enough. But when choosing a photography package with an album, you are guaranteed to have your album in your hand within a few months of you walking down that aisle to your forever.
Wedding Albums make great gifts. I offer a range of different sizes (8-12 inch) and styles of albums to make yours, yours. Parent Albums come in size 8 inch and are a wonderful gift for parents and grandparents. And also think about how happy grandma and grandpa will be when they won’t have to worry about fiddling with how to work a computer to see your images.
You have a choice of leather or suede for your album cover. You and I will work together on how to tell the perfect story from start to finish with your favorite images. High quality, professionally designed albums have high quality lay-flat pages. They are a perfect addition to show off on any coffee table!
Each size album is available to add on to your wedding package depending on what size fits best for you. Albums can also be purchased up to one calendar year after your wedding gallery has been delivered so don’t worry about making a decision just yet. Once you receive your completed album, you will have the opportunity to order a custom made album that we can work together on building.
