There are some wedding days that stay with you long after the last dance, Kennedy and Ethan’s June celebration at the Buffalo History Museum was absolutely one of them. I’ve photographed many weddings in Buffalo over the years, but this one felt deeply personal, not just because Kennedy is a talented wedding planner herself, but because every single element was intentional, heartfelt, and beautifully them.
From the moment I arrived at the Richardson Hotel for getting ready, there was this buzzing mix of excitement and calm, the kind that only happens when two people truly can’t wait to say “I do.” Kennedy’s details were timeless and elegant, from her white Lulus bridal heels and floral designed stationery to Ethan’s polished black tux and their matching whiskey glasses catching the morning light.
The Buffalo History Museum is one of those rare spaces that feels both grand and intimate. With its marble columns, sweeping stairs, and classic architecture, it set the perfect stage for Kennedy’s vision, a juxtaposition of elegant museum vibes meets garden party celebration.
She brought this vision to life through soft green linens, gold chiavari chairs, and candlelight that glowed against the museum’s rich black columns. The tablescapes, designed by Copper Peak Media and Beck and Forth Co., featured lush white florals, custom signage, and personalized touches that made every guest feel like they were part of their story.
Their ceremony took place on the museum’s iconic marble steps, surrounded by family, friends, and a soft summer breeze. Kennedy and Ethan’s vows were entirely their own, emotional, raw, and full of laughter. It’s one of those moments where you can feel everyone holding their breath, hanging on every word.
When they walked back down the aisle, they were beaming, that kind of delirious, just married joy that photographers dream about capturing. It was Kennedy’s favorite photo from the day, and honestly, it’s one of mine too.
Every element of their wedding day had meaning. Their signature cocktails were inspired by their two cats (of course 🐱), their handwritten napkins featured funny and heartfelt notes, and their playlist was carefully curated with songs that had meaning to their relationship, not a single filler track in sight. Dan from H&H Entertainment brought the energy, as always!
Kennedy poured so much heart into creating a day that reflected who they are as a couple, full of warmth, humor, and intention. Watching her vision come to life at a venue as timeless as the Buffalo History Museum felt like witnessing magic.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding wasn’t just the stunning details or the gorgeous light, it was the energy of the day. Kennedy and Ethan are the kind of couple who love deeply, laugh hard, and make everyone around them feel like family.
After I delivered their gallery, Kennedy sent me an email that brought me to tears — talking about how every photo felt natural, how even the posed ones felt like I was just a fly on the wall watching their love unfold. As a photographer, there’s truly nothing more meaningful to hear.
Kennedy and Ethan’s Buffalo History Museum wedding is one I’ll never forget, and I’m beyond thrilled to share that it’s now published on Junebug Weddings! This day deserves to be seen, shared, and celebrated for all its creativity and heart.
