There’s something so magical about summer weddings in Buffalo; sunshine, bold colors, and pure joy that radiates through every photo. This colorful summer wedding at Avanti Mansion was everything you could hope for in a joyful, vibrant celebration of love. Between the playful details, emotional moments, and stunning backdrop of Avanti Mansion, this day truly reflected everything I love about photographing weddings in Western New York.
Jane and Conor’s story started back in college, where they were both deeply involved in campus life, he was in the fraternity, and she was in the sorority. They shared classes, community service events, and mutual friends, and even though timing wasn’t on their side at first, it was clear that they were meant to end up together.
By the end of sophomore year, they attended each other’s formals and from that moment, they were inseparable. After college, Conor stayed in Buffalo to look for work, and the two built a life together that’s now over seven years strong. From moving in together to adopting a sweet dog, their relationship has been full of love, laughter, and Bills games (they’ve been season ticket members since 2018!).
When I asked Conor how he knew Jane was “the one,” his answer melted me:
“I knew I wanted to propose when I realized life is short, and there’s no one I’d rather spend every day of my life with.”
They’re a couple that radiates joy, comfort, and humor, the kind that instantly makes everyone around them feel at ease.
Fast-forward to wedding planning, and Jane described it perfectly:
“Good but stressful — I never knew what I was doing honestly, haha, but somehow it all comes together.”
And oh, did it ever. Every detail of their day reflected their personalities: vibrant, lighthearted, and full of love. The Avanti Mansion in Buffalo, NY, offered the perfect balance between elegance and a laid-back summer atmosphere. With its lush gardens, light-filled spaces, and timeless architecture, it set the stage for a colorful, joy-filled day that felt effortless from start to finish.
From the moment Jane and Conor saw each other during their first look to their golden-hour portraits, the energy never stopped. Their ceremony at Avanti Mansion was surrounded by greenery and sunshine, creating a dreamy garden atmosphere that made every photo glow.
The reception was just as vibrant, from colorful florals and personal touches to heartfelt toasts and endless dancing. And their favorite photo?
“The kissing photo of us in front of the mansion — chef’s kiss! Stunning, timeless, just obsessed!”
That one definitely made it to my favorites too, there’s something about the mix of architecture, light, and emotion that makes it an instant classic.
Over the years, Jane and Conor have built their love on small moments and shared passions. They love walking their dog, watching sunsets at the Outer Harbor, playing chess, and catching Bills games together. They’re foodies at heart (give them wings, pasta, tacos, or pizza, and they’re happy), and they’re total homebodies, the kind who’d rather have a movie night and homemade pizza than go out.
Their love languages are acts of service and quality time, and honestly, it shows in every photo. The way they look at each other? It’s the kind of connection that doesn’t need posing — just presence.
When I asked what they were most looking forward to about married life, Jane said:
“Settling down and enjoying the little moments again — now that we don’t have to plan or stress anymore!”
And her advice to future couples?
“Elope and save money haha. Loved our day, but now we’re broke AF!”
If you’re dreaming of a colorful summer wedding in Buffalo, Avanti Mansion checks every box. With both indoor and outdoor spaces, you can easily move from your garden ceremony to a lively reception without skipping a beat. The natural light, elegant architecture, and lush landscape make it a photographer’s dream.
Some quick tips for couples planning a summer wedding at Avanti Mansion:
When I asked Jane and Conor how they found me, they said:
“Instagram!! Your style and pictures spoke for themselves, and we knew we wanted to work with you.”
That means the world to me because that’s exactly what I hope my work communicates: real emotion, genuine joy, and colorful, timeless storytelling. Plus, because of their wedding, there has been sooo many more couples finding me for my vibrant, colorful photography style.
Their day ended with laughter, dancing, and that unmistakable Buffalo summer warmth. As Jane said best:
“It was an amazing day, perfect weather, so much love!! We truly had the best time and were so happy you were there to capture those moments.”
